12 hours.

That’s how long I was on the road today, with all of my stops, and I finally pulled into my apartment around 6:45 last night.

I am home. Thank you Jesus.

As I was unloading the Jeep, I looked around my living room and thought, “Cross-country travel is not for the faint of heart.” 😂

There are coolers, bins, camping gear, clothes, food, dog stuff, bags and who knows what else scattered everywhere.

But looking at all of it also made me think about everything that happened over the last two weeks.

The miles. The people. The places. The unexpected moments. And the little pieces of Jesus I left along the way.

On my drive home, I stopped in Pensacola. As I got off the interstate I notice a frail man sitting there with a sign. I didn’t really read everything on it. I just saw that it said, he couldn’t work.

I had some snacks with me, so I put together a little snack bag with some peanuts and things and gave it to him along with a $5 bill. (I was reminded by a teaching from Pastor Troy, it's not my business what he does with the money. It's simply my job to love him not judge him.)

Then I reached back for one of my little Jesus figures.

When I looked up, he had started walking to the traffic behind me, so I tossed the little Jesus down on the ground by his things. I don’t know if he ever found it.

Maybe he did.

Maybe someone else did.

Maybe it was still sitting there when he came back.

I’ll never know.

I’m okay with that. I didn’t need to know what happened after I left it.

I just needed to do what was in front of me in that moment.

That little encounter really made me think about how many things in life are completely out of our hands. We can’t always see the impact of something we do. We may never know who needed the kind word, a smile, a hello, a snack, the little Jesus, or even just the fact that someone stopped long enough to notice them.

Maybe that’s part of faith too. Do what you can with what you have, when the opportunity is right in front of you, and trust God with whatever happens next.

And now, the Jeep is empty.

The living room is a disaster.

I’m exhausted.. lol

And I’m incredibly grateful.

Two weeks ago, I left Florida wondering what this adventure would look like. I came home with stories I never could have planned.

And I’m pretty sure this is only the beginning.

Keep it Simple.

God Loves You.

And so do I. ❤️
