Turning Pain Into Purpose

Saturday morning, I decided to go to Sanford and join the ladies at Fit by Faith. We walked about 3 miles, then afterward I decided to check out Sanford. They had an amazing farmers market and some pretty cool shops.

One, in particular, caught my attention. Not only for what they had in it, (so cute) but for what the store's mission is. As I was walking around looking, I noticed the pricing was pretty reasonable, almost too cheap. The items were very nice. The store was clean, well organized, and the young lady working was very sweet.

I love shopping small business, and this little shop was full of products from LOCAL entrepreneurs. Some made by women that we're victims of human trafficing.

Alexi, the young lady working in the shop, was actually the first entrepreneur Tina gave an opportunity to. She & her sister make soaps made from goat's milk. These two young ladies own and operate Sister Soaps. (Alexi is only 16 BTW!) (www.sister-soaps.com)

Local, family owned and operated small businesses... I LOVE IT!

I could tell there was a story behind the store, so I asked Alexi what the story behind the shop and the mission behind it was.

She went on to tell me the founder, Tina Kadolph, was a victim of human trafficking. After she was saved from that life, she took that life experience and turned it into a purpose for other people who are still living that life. Through her nonprofit, Love Missions Global, a portion of profits go toward the fight to end human trafficking.

Today was simply incredible.

I had some amazing conversations.

Met some absolutely incredible women.

Lifted the name of Jesus to everyone I talked to.

AND I am realizing, God is putting me in front of people I never would have met, had I not stepped out of my comfort zone and started walking with Fit by Faith.

I'm finding community. I'm making friends. Finding family. And today, I found a couple of small businesses, started by women who took pain and turned it into purpose.

I have invited all of these amazing ladies to be part of Mighty Caregivers Circle, and I cannot wait to interview them and learn more about all of their stories.

I don't think any of this is an accident.

The day's adventures and connections were just more reinforcement that I am doing exactly what God wants me to do.

And it made me think... some days we wonder if we are moving in the right direction. When we remember to keep HIM at the center of ALL we do, the direction is right. Fear not, He is with you.

God's already where you're going.

Keep it Simple.God Loves You.And so do I.
